To date Akiko has made two very different sets of screenprints featuring flowers and (or) birds. Five examples from each set are included in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. One set (e.g., pictures 1-5) shows close up views of flowers of a single species while the second (e.g., pictures 6-10) combines multiple species of flowers and birds, with the flowers typically forming a border around a central scene. The birds are drawn in a true-to-life way but the flowers are colored creatively in both sets and are therefore challenging to identify. To see more pictures from the two sets click here.
